Doris Adamu Jenis, TOTSI Founder
The founder of Triumph Over Trauma & Stigma Initiative (TOTSI) in Gombe, Nigeria, Doris Adamu Jenis, leads with vision, tenacity, and grace.
As the first Triumph Over Trauma leader, she multiplied her impact by training women across Northern Nigeria to lead local trauma recovery groups, offering community and support to survivors of rape.
Over the past four years, Doris and her team have reached more than 65,000 people by training new leaders across and beyond northern Nigeria. Their use of radio, television, and social media spreads awareness that trauma recovery is possible.

Bibiche Okala Ohanga, Nurse
A survivor of rape, Bibiche Ohanga graduated from the Mama Lynn Center in Kindu, DRC, where she found healing, learned income-generating skills, and discovered her calling to become a nurse.
With support from Harper Hill Global, she achieved her dream and began nursing in 2021.
Now located in Goma, DRC, she found herself once again in the midst of violent conflict, where she, in turn, began helping other survivors of rape. Through nursing, empathy, and courageous leadership, she leads a group of survivors, providing food, medical supplies, trauma recovery, and, most recently, income-generating skill building.

Neelley Hicks, Executive Director of Harper Hill Global (HHG), has served in global development since 2005, using her ICT4D background for humanitarian programs such as trauma recovery and public health education.
Harper Hill Global's programs include Triumph Over Trauma, which equips local leaders in programs that allow them to help survivors overcome emotional scars.
Harper Hill Global's public health education (Hearts United for Health), connects health resources with underserved people throughout Africa. Through public health education, clinic support, and a vast network, HHG also aids in special cases where greater interventions are required.
